N.I. Dorset Breeders Secure an Export to I.O.M

pasturesNew

The N.I. Dorset Sheep Breeders Club was very pleased to be contacted earlier in the year by Lorne House Farms Ltd. Isle of Man about the possibility of sourcing pedigree Poll Dorset Ewe lambs in Northern Ireland.

The initial enquiries were sparked off due to the high health status of the Northern Ireland flocks and also the wide choice of bloodlines and numbers available in the province.

After numbers and flock status were collated, flock owner Simon Glynnriley and shepherdess Kate Creed and her brother - Agri Contractor, Danny Creed from Lorne House Farms, Castletown, I.O.M. flew into Northern Ireland to tour arround 8 flocks across the length of the country.

Following the initial visit the first impressions were so impressive that an order of 200 ewe lambs and 4 ram lambs were secured by the N.I. Dorset Club and within 10 days the Northern Ireland Dorset sheep were shipped off via Scotland, through England and onto Isle of Man through the port of Douglas.

The N.I. Dorset Club would like to thank Lorne House Farms Ltd for their custom and wish them all the very best with their Dorset sheep and their conversion from native island sheep to Pedigree Dorset breeding and look foreward to further communications and business in the future.
